Olympiacos extended their lead at the top of the league standings following their 4-2 win over Panathinaikos at “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium in MD1 of the Stoiximan Super League Playoffs. The “Red-and-whites” clearly outperformed their “eternal” rival and won a derby match once again’ so, they continue their march toward the championship title.
This victory puts Olympiacos 10 points ahead of second-placed AEK.
With nothing but 50 seconds on the clock, Olympiacos scored the opener through Yaremchuk. In the 16th minute, Chiquinho doubled the lead to 2-0. Panathinaikos pulled one back with Mladenović, but Yaremchuk struck again in 51’ minute to make it 3-1.
Ioannidis converted a penalty in the 75th minute to bring the score to 3-2, but Kostoulas sealed the final 4-2 result in 82’.
In stoppage time (90+2’), Ioannidis received a second yellow card and was sent off.
