Olympiacos came out victorious in their away match against OFI in Crete, with the team’s coach, José Luis Mendilibar, expressing his satisfaction with the performance and effort of the “Red-and-whites”.
Here is the full press conference of the Basque coach:
Your first comment on the match…
It was a tough game against a strong team. We struggled to score the opener, but we worked hard and persevered. We managed to make it 1-0, and after that, the game opened up. We created several chances, and the second goal followed. The opponent played well and challenged us, which is why we are pleased with the win against such a team.
What was the difference between the two halves? Why did Olympiacos start stronger in the second half?
There weren’t significant differences between the two halves; our game plan remained the same. However, as time went on, perhaps we entered the second half with more intensity and were able to get closer to the opponent’s area. We scored from a set piece, which is not something we do often, but overall, there weren’t many differences between the two halves.
