Olympiacos FC announces the acquisition of the renowned Brazilian attacking midfielder, Willian.
Born on August 9, 1988, in Ribeirão Pires, he spent the last two years playing in the Premier League with Fulham, where he made 67 appearances across all competitions, scored ten goals, and provided seven assists. He began his career at Corinthians, from which he transferred to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2007.
During the 5.5 years he spent with the Ukrainian team, he won four championships, three cups, and one UEFA Cup, having made 221 appearances, with a record of 37 goals and 63 assists. In January 2013, he signed with Anzhi Makhachkala, but a few months later, he left Russia to join Chelsea. With Chelsea, he won the Premier League in 2015 and 2017, an FA Cup, a League Cup, and the Europa League in 2019. After 339 games, 63 goals, and 62 assists, he left Chelsea but remained in London, signing with Arsenal, with whom he reached the Europa League semi-finals in the 2020-2021 season, making a total of 37 appearances (1 goal and 7 assists).
In the 2021-2022 season, he returned to his homeland to play for Corinthians. In the recently concluded season, he made 31 appearances in the Premier League with Fulham, scored four goals, and provided two assists. Willian has been capped 70 times by the Brazilian national team, with whom he participated in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups and won the Copa America in 2019.
