Olympiacos was defeated in the friendly match against Nottingham Forest at “G. Karaiskakis” with a score of 3-4, in a celebratory game for the “Reds.” Before the start of the friendly match, the entire Olympiacos team entered the field, along with the president of the club, Evangelos Marinakis, and coaches José Luis Mendilibar and Sotiris Sylaidopoulos, accompanied by the European trophies, the UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Youth League.
The match then began, featuring several goals from both teams. The scoring for Nottingham Forest opened with a header by Yates in the 15th minute, while Olympiacos equalized at 1-1 in the 24th minute with a shot by Martins after a nice individual try.
In the second half, the English outfit took a 1-4 lead thanks to goals by Wood (43′), Yates (61′), and Elanga (68′). However, Olympiacos cut the deficit to make it into the final 3-4 with goals from Martins and Velde in the 78th and 89th minutes, respectively.
