In their second friendly match in the Netherlands, part of their main summer preparation phase, Olympiacos won 2–0 over KV Mechelen. This team, like Ajax in the first friendly match, is more prepared as their league season starts in just a week.
The “red-and-whites” showcased numerous positive aspects once again, displaying impressive movement and relentless pressure all over the pitch. Furthermore, the young talents who are part of the squad in the Netherlands, who won the European Championship with the youth team last year, were given more playing time and stood out yet again.
Notably, Mouzakitis scored one of the two goals of the match.
The goals that secured the victory were scored by Mouzakitis in the 5th minute and Martins, assisted by Kostoulas, in the 28th minute. Olympiacos also came close to scoring with a double hit on the post in the 81st minute by Rodinei and Masouras.
