Olympiacos completed their domestic obligations, playing their last match against Panathinaikos at Leoforos and securing a draw with a 2–2 score, for the 10th and final matchday of the Stoiximan Super League Playoffs. Thus, the “red-and-whites” finished in 3rd place in the Super League standings, thus securing one of the tickets to Europe, specifically to the UEFA Europa Conference League.
However, Olympiacos now awaits this particular competition’s final on May 29 in Nea Filadelfeia, where they will face Fiorentina, and by winning the European trophy, they will directly enter the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
In the match at Leoforos, Panathinaikos led with a 2–0 following Bakasetas’ penalty in the 45+5’ and Bernard’s goal in the 59’. However, Olympiacos reacted and leveled the score at 2–2, thanks to goals by Podence and Jovetić in the 73’ and 81’ respectively, while it should be noted that in the 89’, Podence was sent off with a second yellow card.
