Second negative result in a row for the team. After the 70′, it looked like Olympiacos was not able to turn the match around. What was to blame?
Truth be told, we played bad and we were not good. Our defense faces problems and this was the case since the beginning, not from the 70th minute onwards. Although we scored first, we were playing well at that point either. There are players in the defensive line to play defense but is seems that it takes one striker to hurt us. We have opponent players in our area, but every time they built up their attack, they are able to convert. This was the case also with Maccabi and Panathinaikos; thus, our opponents showed they were better than us.
Talking with Mr. Terim, he agreed that details determined the final result. Olympiacos, once again, found it hard to convert the opportunities created, whereas in defense the side conceded easy goals. What do you attribute this lack of sharpness and efficiency both in defense and offense to?
In the Greek championship, the difference against specific teams is quite large. It is true that in the first matched we won, such as against PAOK, we outperformed them. However, in these last matches, we lost because we have been outperformed ourselves. Just like the coach of Panathinaikos said, they were more clinical in all the opportunities they created. I agree that details matter, just like in the 1-1 when we had a clear chance with Navarro to make it 2-1, but the ball went off target and, in the next play, they scored for the 1-2. Following that, we couldn’t respond to Panathinaikos way of playing.
You covered a big gap in the championship, but you are trailing back once again. What are the chances for the club?
There is certainly room to cover the distance. We still have nine matches to play with all other teams and we will get our chances, but we have to make use of them and be able to better our performance. We are to play AEK in the following matchday and we will have 15 days at our disposal to work and correct our mistakes. We will also have to avail ourselves of the pause ahead for the National Team fixtures and we still have a long way to use the chances we will be given.
