After the end of the Toumba match and the side’s 1-4 win to PAOK, Olympiacos coach José Luis Mendilibar said during the press conference.
Asked about the first round Olympiacos fixture against PAOK and the red-and-white’s defeat in G. Karaiskakis, as well as the key for that win in Toumba, the Legend’s Spanish coach pointed out:
“I have watched some parts of our first -round match to PAOK in Karaiskakis and one of my assistants has watched the entire match in detail. We meticulously observed certain points of that match. However, we didn’t come here to fix things from that match; back then, it had been a different set of circumstances, a different coach and a different moment for Olympiacos.
I came here because I want to put my ideas in practice and I try to do that match after match. In the Ferencvaros fixture, this had been more difficult to accomplish, we delivered only 50%, but today things were a bit better and we displayed more things. What I mainly want to do is to convince my players that despite the fact they are good and they have a great potential, they will also have to be sharp in defense and if they do that, then these are the results we will be earning, like the one against PAOK”
