Olympiacos qualified for the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup after the end of their games against Atromitos in the round of 16 of the competition. The “red-and-whites” had won 4–1 in the first match at “G. Karaiskakis” and, following the 2–2 away draw, they left Atromitos out of the league and will face Aris for the last eight of the cup.
The coach of the Greek champions, Míchel, made several changes to the original form of the team in relation to the latest Super League match, while making several trials in view of Olympiacos advancing in the League and the Cup.
The hosts opened the score in the 8’ with Tzovaras, while Olympiacos turned the score around until half-time with the goals of Cissé and Marcelo at 38’ and 45+1’ respectively. The final 2–2 was formed by Atromitos in the 51’ with Kotsopoulos scoring the goal.
