Olympiacos beat OFI by 2-1 in Heraklion for the championship’s MD7. The Piraeus outfit’s coach, Michel, said that both himself and the players were quick to realize they had to change their way of playing, he also made specific reference to the quality of M’Vila.
Michel’s words, in detail:
What changed the team’s display after the break:
“One could say that it was the substitutions that changed our team’s behavior on the pitch; however, I think it was the change in all the players’ attitude μας. Our players got rid of all the stress, pressure and hastiness, and realized that the only way to defeat a well-structured team, is by playing this way. In the first half, we had no control of the match because we didn’t set out properly, but luckily, we understood early enough that we had to change”.
On using M’Vila as a central defender and Marcelo’s position:
“M’Vila is a top player. He is priceless to us because he can both play and perform well in any position. So, for us he represents a valuable asset. As for Marcelo, we all want to see him playing, but we also want to see him playing well. However, this needs time, because he has to better his state of fitness; this has to happen slowly and it will take time”.
