Olympiacos FC announces the transfer of Diadié Samassékou from Hoffenheim.
Born on the 11th of January 1996, the 26-year-old defensive midfielder made his first soccer steps in Mali, where he is originally from. His started his professional career in 2013, when he joined Real Bamako. Two years later, in 2015, he transferred to Austrian team Red Bull Salzburg, immediately joining Liefering as a loan, participating in 26 games with two assists.
He returned to Salzburg in 2016, appearing in 134 games, scoring two goals and delivering 6 assists. During that time he played in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals against Marseilles. In 2019 he transferred to Germany’s Hoffenheim. While wearing their jersey, he appeared in 86 matches, 78 of which in Bundesliga, with 2 goals and 5 assists.
He was capped 27 times for the national team of Mali and scored one goal.
