A “pyrrhic” qualification for Olympiacos in Slovakia against Slovan Bratislava in the penalty shootouts! The regular game ended with a 2–2 tie and in the penalty shootouts the “red-and-whites” qualified for the Europa League Playoffs, where they will face Apollon Limassol.
Olympiacos took the lead twice in the regular game with Zinckernagel (54’) and Aguibou Kamara (101’), but Slovan was able to even the score with Šaponjić (90+4’) and Green (108’).
However, the Greek champions put their soul into the penalty shootouts and managed to get what they wanted –qualifying and progressing in the Europa League– and are one step away from the group phase of the competition.
