Olympiacos had the match exactly where they wanted it after earning the lead in 30’ courtesy of M’Villa, set up brilliantly by Masouras. In the second half, the Bulgarian outfit had more luck and managed to turn things around; they took the lead thanks to a Semedo own-goal (49’) and Sotiriou’s penalty (56’). El Arabi levelled things also from the sport in 68’ for Olympiacos, which played one-man down from 86’ until the end of extra time after Ba was sent off. In the so-called “Russian roulette”, Ludogorets turned out to be more effective and earned the qualification.
