A mission of love and solidarity by Olympiacos FC. Following an initiative by the Club’s President Mr. Evangelos Marinakis, Olympiacos donated 20 portable cabins, fully equipped with all essentials and a complete set of domestic-electric appliances, with a view to provide immediate relief to earthquake-stricken families. Moreover, commodities, blankets and cleaning supplies have been dispatched.
On Saturday, March 13, the first 4 cabins left the “G. Karaiskaksi” stadium and were transferred and installed in Damaki, Elassona. Headed by “G. Karaiskakis” President and CEO Mr. Vassilis Vassiliadis, the “red-and-white” convoy of solidarity delivered them to Metropolitan Bishop of Elassona Charitonas, with another 16 to be installed next week.
After receiving the keys of the first 4 cabins by Mr. Vassiliadis, Metropolitan Bishop Charitonas genuinely said:
“It is with great emotion that we welcome the first cabins we humbly asked for; Mr. Evangelos Marinakis was quick to positively respond and made sure the affected Damaski population would get them. We are grateful and thank him for his significant donation.”
In turn, Head of the region Mr. Kostas Agorastos pointed out: “I would like to thank Evangelos Marinakis and Olympiacos for their substantial support towards the people of quake-hit Damaski and Thessaly”. Tyrnavos Mayor Mr. Giannis Kokouras stressed:
“I would like to thank Evangelos Marinakis for his offer to his fellow people, harshly tested these days.
Olympiacos will always be where there is a need for. May the people in Elassona stay strong.
