In detail here are all the statements of Olympiacos’ coach to the cameras of Cosmote TV:
“We were hoping that Ba would start. We tried, but he couldn’t play. We put M’Vila as stopper and the balances in the team changed as for the planning we had done. The team entered somehow without self-confidence, somehow fearful in the first 25 minutes.
Afterwards we went forward and had the best opportunities, not in terms of quantity but of quality. On the second half we showed a very good image and we could have scored a second goal. Instead of us scoring, the opponent did. The final score doesn’t reflect what happened during the match, but this is football.
I think the referee was influenced by the reactions of the people of Arsenal in the attempt of their second goal and in many situations, which were in the vast majority in their favour and changed the balance of the match. He should have analysed further the attempt of that goal before taking the decision.
For us, nothing’s over yet. We’ll go to win the second leg and do the best we can. In our minds, nothing’s over yet. We will fight for all the hopes we have.”
