Interview by the coach of Olympiacos on Cosmote TV:
What taste are you left with?
“Indeed, we are left with a well-deserved taste. We are happy and we were worth it. Our course so far has proven that. The 2-0 scoreline did not reflect how the match evolved. We are a team that loses many chances and if we got disqualified, this would have been unfair. I think my team’s fighting spirit was strong and I want to congratulate my players. Injustice is part of football and I believe getting knocked out would have been unfair “.
On the first half:
“I am not disappointed with our performance in the first half. We made a strong start as planned. We had two good opportunities with El-Arabi and Bruma. We showed a good face but the scoreline failed to truly reflect how the match was going “.
On Hassan:
“I want to make a generic comment on our side’s amazing fighting spirit; a team that believes in itself until the last minute and never quit. Hassan is a player whom we fully trust. I want to stress our side’s fighting spirit and strong belief in all matches“.
On the draw:
“I have no particular preference. Now, our priority is to get some rest and physically recover because we have a league match on Monday and then we will be concerned about the draw”.
