The “red-and-white” network of Schools keeps growing to cover all four corners of the world, where many Greeks may be found.
Toronto hosts the largest community of the Greek diaspora in Canada (approx. 100,000 people) and the new Olympiacos school will find fertile ground to helps our club ideals grow since it aspires to attract children from Greece-originated migrants and fellow Canadians σύλλογό μας. Following Chicago and Washington, Toronto now becomes the third point of reference for Olympiacos Schools of football, this time way up in the American north.
Our School Director Network Vassilis Nanos says:
“Olympiacos dynamics has already transcended Greek borders. After announcing our new partnership in Dubai, today we officially launch a new project that originally started in 2019 after accommodating the Toronto Academy in Piraeus. In that context, we laid down the plan of our partnership and now it’s time materialize it. The Legend’s network expands and grows abroad thanks to great partnerships and a meaningful vision”.
On his part, our Academy Director Antonis Pikoulas pointed out:
“The Olympiacos school network is coming to Toronto and this is both a meaningful initiative that will boost sporting activities in the city and a cultural act of high symbolic value.
The Olympiacos family stands next to the kernel of Greek Diaspora in Canada offering a vision to Greek-originated and all other kids in the city and its suburbs, along with an opportunity to become members of the large “red-and-white” organization; and why not, they may be the ones, in the future, to wear our honored jersey with the laurel-crowned adolescent emblem on.
We are proud of our new partnership! Welcome!”
The Toronto School Director Apostolos Gribilas points out:
“Toronto is Canada’s largest city and America’s fourth biggest. It is a multi-cultural city with people spanning from 230 different nationalities and 180 different languages and dialects spoken, including also a huge Greek community and a large Olympiacos fan base! Building an Olympiacos School in our city was an objective set and elaborated for a long time and we are now very proud of being part of the Legend’s international family. Last, we are really happy to see our contribution strengthening Olympiacos international profile further as one of the world’s top clubs!
We have set 3 objectives:
– To create the most successful football academy in Toronto
– To spread the word about Olympiacos farther more in Canada
– To prepare the next generation of talents in Canada that will perform one day in Karaiskakis Stadium!”.
