If the term “a soldier of Olympiacos” could be personified, then it is a fact that it would be the one and only Savvas Theodoridis.
He was the goalkeeper of the legendary team to win 6 championships in a row; he was capped for the first time back in 1953. He wore the red-and-white jersey with our emblem on unti the end of his career; he retired in 1962.
Standing always next to his beloved Olympiacos, he always offered his services from various positions, carrying out the duties of vice-president and general manager. As such, he won among others 7 consecutive domestic titles. Over the past years, he bore the title of our club’s president emeritus.
He was happy enough to celebrate along with our players the club’s 45th championship title, which Evangelos Marinakis dedicated to him personally.
Olympiacos FC expresses its deep condolences to the family and relatives of Savvas Theodoridis.
Savvas Theodoridis, have a peaceful travel in the eternal seas.
