Detailed transcript of the Press Conference
So, has Olympiacos taken what they deserved tonight? What are his thought for the day after?
“I think that we deserved to qualify given our performance from this start of this year and not just this two matches. We deserved something more out of the match against Tottenham and we took it tonight”.
Your campaign started in Plzen and still continues, although many thought it would have ended in London. How far do your dreams go?
“This team has fought really hard to make it so far. It would have been a pity to see our camping ending here. We cannot talk about the future; we have to wait for the draw. Arsenal was a different team compared to the one 2 month ago. Teams change. We all saw what has happened in their match against Chelsea and what happened tonight. So, we can say nothing about the future, yet we have to wait for it”.
Is this achievement the biggest one in your career, until the next one?
“We are so pleased this night. I don’t know if it is the most important night of all. It is special because it means we qualified to the last-16 stage. We wanted to achieve something also for the benefit of Greek football’s standing. It is importunate for our team to achieve things for the very first time. It is important because it means a lot for our fans and the club. We do not know where we shall end and we have to keep up the good work”.
Do you feel vindicated for your comments about Olympiacos proving their worth in London?
“I believed in that very much because I knew the spirit. I knew that all players would give al they got. Tonight’s match was very tiring. We feel overrun, we gave it all. Tactically, this was a flawless performance, we never lost our focus. I knew we would have done it because I knew our team”.
