Detailed transcript of his interview on Cosmote TV:
“This is a moment of vindication for all of us, the Management, our players and coach. After a lot of hard work, we managed to qualify to the competition’s group stage along with Europe’s top teams and we are particular proud of and happy about that.
What we have attained in the past 9 years is Olympiacos being established amongst Europe’s elite clubs. We are particularly proud of that, yet it took lots of hard work.
Nikos Kazantzakis, in a masterly way, explains us why we love taking the hard way uphill. In my life, I have learnt to go for the hard way up. This provides us with a boost and gives the message to all our players, fans and everyone else that we are not put off by difficulties.
Bayern is a really top team, like Tottenham and our Serbian brothers. We believe in our strengths, we are strong and particularly optimistic.
On transfers: «We have already made a start today and you will see tomorrow the next player to join us. Certainly, we have faith in our players and we must not forget what happened in our last matches. For us, they are the best in our country and I am confident that these lads will also star in Europe. Names just hit the headlines, you were quick to make announcements. Benzia has already landed in Greece, another one is flying in tomorrow. We love and we have strong belief in our players and we are certain that we will do just fine”.
On the European ties of PAOK and AEK: «I honestly want to see PAOK and AEK going through. This is good for our country, first and foremost, and it is good for Olympiacos. Our rivalry on the pitch means nothing in this respect. We are all Greeks and we want to see Greece going. I wish the best and I hope they will get the best possible result”.
