Amongst several objectives of Olympiacos, we aim at continuously expanding our horizons both in athletic and non-athletic terms. Our Club’s social work keeps growing following desires and instructions by Olympiacos’ leader Mr. Evangelos Marinakis. In this context, the clubs deploys partnerships with international organizations; one of them had to do with 30 students from US South Carolina University who visited G. Karaiskakis, Rentis Training Center and the Olympiacos Museum.
In particular, it was on Thursday May 17th, 2018, that 30 students from South Carolina University, specialized on Sports Medical Science, accompanied by 2 of their professors, visited facilities at the Rentis Training Centers and G. Karaiskakis Stadium! The purpose of this visit was for them to find out how a top European club is being run and organized; moreover, they also received an update on aspects of applied medical science in football, since this was their field of expertise.
Students were welcomed and shown around the Rentis Training Center by Olympiacos FC CSR Director Mr. Domenicos Masoulas, who explained them our Club’s philosophy, values and organizational structure. They also had a thorough discussion on Olympiacos’ extensive social activities, along with those of Mr. Evangelos Marinakis.
Then, Olympiacos Club Doctor Mr. Christos Theos, gave students a detailed presentation of the organization of our first Team and Academy’s medical staff. Along with that, he showcased sophisticated injury prevention and treatment techniques he applies, as dictated by modern sports medicine.
Later, they were given a tour in the Museum of Olympiacos and the G. Karaiskakis Stadium. South Carolina University students showed particular interest in that and expressed their joy for the opportunity Olympiacos FC gave them to meet in person the staff of Greece’s top club and to appreciate state-of-the-art facilities in the Rentis Training Center and G. Karaiskakis Stadium. After the tour, they all left the premises with the best impressions and filled with knowledge and insights, which was their original goal when deciding to visit Greece and Olympiacos!
