Bjorn Engels:
-What does Olympiacos may take out of this year’s European spell: «Indeed, we had many chances tonight, we could have scored a goal and got a different result but luck was far from being on our side. In general, luck did not favor us as early as in the group stage MD1. Whether we like it or not, it needs a lot of luck as well while playing against Juventus and Barcelona. It was a hard thing and our opponents were great teams; the only thing we could do was to learn in the process”.
-Do you thing that playing against the likes of Dybala, Higuain, Messi and Suarez is contributing to improve individual and team performance: “Indeed, when one plays against such high caliber opponents, then one gets to raise his own level as well. I think we did a fine job tonight. As said, luck was not on our side, but the side did the best they could”.
-On the fact that Olympiacos concedes goals in every single match they play and his opinion on that: This is something we have indeed to fix, with all due respect. We are Olympiacos and such a thing should not be happening. In the UEFA Champions League, a club plays against really tough opponents and it is difficult to keep a clean sheet. But, in the championship, this is something we have to improve starting with our next fixture against Panetolikos».
Omar Elabdellaoui:
-What does he take out of tonight’s match: “Our effort tonight was a good one. We all have some specific periods to keep, like our team work at times, or some goal-scoring opportunities we failed to convert. It a notable effort from our part which turned out to be insufficient to earn us this one point on the table.
-Are you satisfied with this year’s campaign of Olympiacos: We can’t say we are satisfied; if one checks the actual matches we played and the points we collected, it can be said that we had a really poor tally. But this is over now. There is nothing we can do about it and now we have to focus on out championship fixtures”.
