Stefanos Kapino:
-What it means for Olympiacos to qualify to the UEFA Champions League group stage: “It means lots of things. We set out on June 14th and this was our objective: to qualify to the group stage. It is really important. After last year’s failure, qualifying also meant doing justice, first and foremost, to ourselves, our coach –who joined the club and put a certain plan in action which delivered- and also all the people in the club, our fans that supported us. So, we will have the pleasure to play another six matches, or even more hopefully, in the UEFA Champions League”.
-What determined who would go forward?: “Firstly, I believe we were a better team and this was clear in both matches. Having said that, I think we had a certain plan in the first leg not to let our opponents build a single proper chance. They reached our area two times and, sadly, we conceded once. Tonight, we tried to intercept their attacks as much as possible, to press them, not to be scared of the outcome and we finally won”.
-If there is a specific club team he would like to be drawn against in the group stage: “Certainly, there are many sides we would like to play against but, that being said, no matter what team comes, we are Olympiacos and we hope to make it”.
Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe:
-How do you feel after tonight’s win and qualification?: “We are really happy, really satisfied with both the win and the qualification that brought us to the UEFA Champions League group stage. We had undertaken a certain mission, we fulfilled it and now we are happy with it”.
-Do you agree with Mr Hasi who would like to play against Real Madrid in the group stage: «That would be nice! Yet, it would still make me happy to be able to score against another top team!”
Jagos Vukovic:
-His emotions after attaining their objective and qualifying to the groups of the continent’s top football club competition: “We experience some extraordinary feelings. It was a tough match, in the first place, against Rijeka; they are a very good side, we succeeded in scoring first, we played very-very well and we were well organized. In the second half, we all played like one, our defense was quite compact and tough; that’s all it happens. So, we qualified!”
-What team would you like to play against in the UEFA Champions League group stage: “It doesn’t matter; I haven’t thought of it. What I want is to continue our preparation as best as we can for the group stage; To go forward as much as possible and, in the end of the year, be crowned champions at home once again!”
Marko Marin:
-His emotions after securing this qualification: We are really happy. It was our objective from last year, namely to win the championship and fight our way back in the UEFA Champions League. We did so following a set of four tough matches, and –as said- we are very happy”.
–What determined who would go forward?: “The way we set out in the match. Previous time, we set out hard once again, but failed to score. Tonight, we kicked off aggressively, we had some chance to score one more. We were very good and organized, and this led us to victory”.
-On the way he celebrated his goal, in the open arms of the side’s coach Besnik Hasi: “Yes, I really wanted to celebrate my goal with him, because I know him for our time in Anderlecht and he has done a fine job until now. I did want to celebrate this goal with him”.
-On his preferences with regard to the UEFA Champions League group stage draw: “It wouldn’t be bad to be drawn against some German outfit; but being in the group stage, this means that all matches will be tough. We are really strong at home. We want to display well in all matches and we will see how far we can go”.
