Olympiacos partnership with UNICEF has been a significant honor for the legendary club of Greek football. The “100% Campaign” for all children in need is the springboard to offer to all these kids in need of us; and Olympiacos always responds to the call.
We also responded, Wednesday 29/3/2017 at noon, in the “Stoa tou Vivliou”, where the Hellenic National Committee of UNICEF launched its exhibition entitled “The State of Children in Greece Report – Children of crisis”. In this event, UNICEF presented this year’s edition of its Radiomarathon that will take place on Thursday 6/4/2017, involving Greek ERT and tens of radio stations across the country. Its title “For every child suffering from hunger – Close to us or not”. Olympiacos players Lefteris Choutesiotis, Thanassis Androutsos and Giorgos Manthatis, the Club’s Director of Communication Mr Kostas Karapappas and Club’s Head of the partnership with UNICEF, Mrs Verouska Georganti, attended the even in Stoa tou Vivliou to demonstrate, once again, that Olympiacos stands next to UNICEF in all their efforts.
The presentation was held by the President of UNICEF Greece Mrs Sofia Tzitzikou, ERT’s Director of program Mr Giorgos Youkakis, Prof. Christos Papatheodorou from Panteion University and Dr. Stefanos Papanastasiou, PhD on Social Policy, (both authors of UNICEF report), General Director of Prolepsis Institute Mrs Afroditi Veloudaki and Mrs Lola Daifa, recently appointed UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador in Greece.
All of them took the floor and shared figures on the crisis and the way it has affected poverty and hunger levels within young children in our country. A situation that makes itself visible daily in our lives, things we see and experience before us, phenomena that we should all fight to prevent and eradicate! Lefteris Choutesiotis, at the podium, stressed the importance of working together to this direction and highlighted that Olympiacos will always be there to contribute wherever there is a need.
