Yesterday, Olympiakos launched a new large-scale initiative that continued today as well. The Olympiakos FC, under the direction of our President, Evangelos Marinakis, is distributing food to refugees who are hosted in various locations in the Piraeus port for the second day.
Continuing its immense and limitless charitable efforts and adding to its substantial contributions, including providing meals to Greek compatriots through the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus and food to residents of Piraeus in need through KODEP, Olympiakos, the Legend of Greek sports, continued on Saturday afternoon to break down barriers and bring closer those who are in real need.
At three different points in the Piraeus port, specifically at gates E1, E2, and E3, the “red-and-whites” distributed over 1,300 portions of food to the refugees staying there. The children’s smiles and the gratitude on their faces, when they saw the Olympiakos FC vans approaching their shelters for the second day, were, are, and will remain the unique and true reward for everyone who bears the Olympiakos emblem and actively participates in this significant effort to relieve these people.
This is an ongoing action with no limits. We will continue daily to strive to make the lives of the refugees in Piraeus port a little more humane amid the difficult circumstances they face.
