Kostas Fortounis
“This is one of the greatest away victories of Olympiacos. We played a very good game, especially during the first half. There were many spaces and we took advantage of this and we are happy. However, we have to keep going, nothing is decided yet. We still have matches ahead of us and following this victory, we are looking at the second place in the group.
This is a really major victory against an opponent who’s also after the second as well as the first place in the group. Right now, we are at the second place of the standings. We want to do as best as we can and, by taking one step at a time, we will focus on the next match.”
On how the second goal was scored:
“I am very happy. Nevertheless, the important thing is that the team won and that I contributed in this victory. I am very happy that we achieved this really major victory. In the beginning, I thought about aiming directly to the goal because I saw Ospina out of position, I thought about trying and it all turned out fine!”
Esteban Cambiasso
On the match against Arsenal:
“We scored three goals against Arsenal which is not an easy task at all. Olympiacos learned to withstand the pressure; it’s of course the result of team work. We learned to “sacrifice” things for each other and this victory on English soil is a major success for Olympiacos.
We came at Arsenal’s home to play football and not park the bus. This was the key to our success. We not only tried to defend, but also to counter-attack as fast as possible in order to score.”
What does this change as regards the qualification in the next round?
“We haven’t achieved anything yet. I don’t know any teams that qualified in the next round with 3 points. We will therefore continue on the same pace, doing the same job. We want to qualify, but this does not change anything, it just puts us in a good position.”
