The distinctions of Olympiacos both on a European and an international level are constant and surpass the narrow Greek football limits! This is proven by the club’s achievements abroad, the collaborations concluded both on and off the pitch, as well as the acknowledgment granted by organisations and clubs from all over the world.
The successes of the Legend are greatly due to the important players the club has; these are players whose worth is acknowledged abroad! A great example is the list published by World Soccer magazine, included in its April issue, that talks about the world’s 500 most important players!
Five Olympiacos players who currently play for our side feature among them; as is expected, no other Greek club has more players in this list. These players are Dominguez, Maniatis, Masuaku, Afellay and Botía, who appear next to really important players of world football!
There are more… “red-and-white” players in this list, as Kolovos who belongs to our club is also part of the 500; the same goes for Manolas who last summer said goodbye to Piraeus after two years of a significant presence in the Legend and departed for Rome!
The comments of the magazine for our players are laudatory and this proves that Olympiacos and its President, Mr Marinakis, have lay the foundations to make this club even bigger and to continue and increase the successes of the club both in Greece and in Europe!
