Durin the first half, Olympiacos played a wise game and leaving Dnipro no space but for a minor role.
In the second half and during an apparently non-threatening play for Olympiacos, Dnipro took the lead making best use of a gap at the center of Olympiacos defense line. This goal actually seemed to have “chocked” Olympiacos. In fact, it was in 54′ when 2-0 was scored from a set piece.
Just before the final whistle, Egidio handed the ball away from within the penalty box, but the referee denied the violation and called for a corner kick. In its follow-up, Mitroglou scored but the goal was cancelled and the scoreline remained 2-0 until the end.
