The charity work of Olympiacos grows bigger by the day! The club’s contribution knows no limits; our side’s President, Mr Vangelis Marinakis, keeps setting the tone for the provision of assistance to those in need. The visit to the Children’s Oncology Unit “Marianna Vardinoyannis – Elpida”, on Thursday noon, is yet another -additional- landmark as regards the charity work of the President of Olympiacos and the Legend to the children that fight to live.
Mrs Marianna Vardinoyannis presented Mr Marinakis with the Elpida’s plaque to honour him for his enormous contribution to the Association and -mainly- for his contribution to the children themselves in their fight against cancer. Mrs Vardinoyannis The coach of Olympiacos, Mr Vitor Pereira, was also presented with a token, as well as the whole of Olympiacos players who were present. Vice President Mr Savvas Theodoridis, Sports Director Mr Issa, Antonis Nikopolidis and all players (with the exception of Alejandro Dominguez who is down with the flu) were present, met with the children and filled them with smiles and… HOPE! They offered them presents, they even played… foosball with them and took many photographs with them.
Mr Marinakis once again offered his financial support to the Children’s Oncology Unit “Marianna Vardinoyannis – Elpida” by presenting a cheque and Mrs Vardinoyannis personally thanked the President of Olympiacos for it. Mr Vitor Pereira was also presented with an honourary plaque on behalf of the Legend. All the players were also presented with a medal for their visit and their support to the Association.
