Our Olympiacos did not make it against Atlético in Madrid, for the fifth matchday of the group stage in this year’s Champions League. The 4-0 outcome now makes the qualification of our side in the round of 16 difficult.
Our Olympiacos paid the negligence shown in the 9th minute and found themselves behind in the score and going after the result. Olympiacos immediately balanced the match. Mr Michel kept issuing instructions from the bench and the outcome did not change until the 25th minute. Atlético were dangerous, however the reason behind the two goals conceded by the Legend before the end of the first half was some momentary errors.
As a whole, our players were patient in their game, they however needed something more in order to be more menacing. Atlético managed to score a third goal after the 60th minute and things were even harder for our Olympiacos.
Following a set piece, the home team managed an undisputed lead in the match. Nothing changed during the last minutes of the match; our side was defeated in Madrid but the fans of the Legend applauded the players that went to them to thank them!
