Mr Michel’s players were not just good enough, but actually put on a great display in Turin against Juventus; finally, it was details that determined the final 3-2 score, despite our 1-2 lead earlier in the match.
The Legend was seeking to counter-attack, but it was Juventus that had the answers with Andrea Pirlo bringing the goods with a direct free-kick in 21’. In the run of play, the Legend had felt no actual threat, but now it was time to promptly get back on its feet! And it did so just three minutes later! Another set piece and Botia heads home Dominguez masterly executed corner-kick!
The second half started with Olympiacos and Juventus keeping the same line-ups.
The match ignited within five minutes! Olympiacos was smartly keeping Juventus away from its box and, in a fantastic fast-break in 61’, took the lead! Celebrations amongst our fans and players were roaring, but lasted very little. It took a few minutes and some laxity from the part of Olympiacos players for Juventus to score twice and take the lead again.
Our side, finally, left with an unjust 3-2 defeat and is level on points with Juventus in second place; now we will have to play both remaining matches in a “live or die” fashion in order to qualify.
