A few days following the wins against Juventus and Panathinaikos, our Olympiacos greeted Panionios in the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium, for the second matchday of the 2nd stage of the Greek Cup, with the match ending in a 1-1 tie. There is now one match left against Fostiras that Olympiacos wish to win in order to qualify for the next round of the competition.
From the very first minutes Olympiacos kicked off the match dynamically and, following the ball hitting the bar, they scored a quick goal in the 2nd minute.Fortounis seemed really well and he confirmed this with the goal he scored.Panionios quickly became bold since they were now behind in the score.They had to step up the attack and they did it.Olympiacos continued to dominate the match, however they conceded a goal in stark contrast of the match outlook and thus the match re-started… from the beginning in the 25th minute.The score did not depict the match outlook.
The second half kicked off with Siovas re-appearing in the Olympiacos squad, as a substitute for Avlonitis.Olympiacos picked up their pace again and Panionios became a threat in some cases.
Diamantakos came close to scoring in the 86th minute however he hit the woodwork (for the third time in the match!)!The Legend did not stop pressing to make it 2-1 until the very last second. They did not achieve this thus gaining one point from the match in question.The second stage has one last match left against Fostiras in Tavros.
