“Yes, this is obviously a really important victory for us and the club and I am happy that we won the three points. It is always nice to score a goal and in particular during such matches. I live for these matches and I am happy I scored a goal.
It is always important to win points when playing away from home. However, we now need to focus on the upcoming match against Panathinaikos and win this match. Olympiacos must always win!”
Roberto:
“I was one of the players who did his job and am really happy both with the outcome and our display, however this is our job and the most important thing is the outcome and the feelings, as we are thinking about Sunday’s match.”
On being applauded by the fans: “It’s amazing to hear the fans applauding you like this because we work for the possibility to feel these things, we work for our fans and we feel really well to hear them chanting like this.”
On the match against Panathinaikos: “We achieved a really good result today and this gives us confidence ahead of Sunday’s match since we know how important it is to win this match for our fans, for the championship, in order to stay close to the top position in the table, for everything… therefore we now need to focus on the upcoming match.”
On the club’s future in the UEFA Champions League: “We need to try and win points in the away matches because I believe it will not be enough to win the three matches in ‘Georgios Karaiskakis’, therefore we need to try and win points away from home as well in order to qualify to the next round.”
Botia:
“This was a really difficult match. It was hard to control, however the team worked well from the first until the last minute and it made it through. The goal we scored is a result of our work and we are now thinking about the upcoming match since it’s an important match for us and the club.
I personally tried to help my side as much as I could. This was a really difficult match. I always try to do things correctly, not only in this match, but in all previous matches as well. However, we are now concentrating on Sunday’s match which, as we know, is a really important one. I need to have a really good performance in order to help the club.
Our fans excel themselves every day. They are the twelfth player for us. They help a lot and they will certainly put great pressure to the opponents on Sunday and of course help us.”
