The Legend had many new players in their lineup. The goalkeeper and captain was Roberto! In defence, from right to left, played Elabdellaoui, Botia, Abidal and Masuaku. N’Dinga and Kasami were the central midfielders and Alejandro Dominguez, with number 10 on his shirt, played in front of them! Dossevi played as right winger and Afellay as left winger, and Dimitris Diamantakos was the striker of the team!
The opening 1-0 goal was scored in the most impressive way in the 11th minute! Dossevi raced from the right and when he saw he had no open space ahead of him, he stopped and turned a pass to the centre where Kasami controlled the ball and set it in front of him in order to take the shot! And this is what he did: he netted the ball with his left foot with a superb straight shot on the right post of Tampakis and scored the first goal of the season.
The second goal was scored on the 28th minute when Dominguez took the corner kick and N’Dinga received the ball on the first post. He made a header, Tampakis initially cleared the ball, however Diamantakos was lurking and he took a close-range shot to make it 2-0 for the Legend.
Ibrahim Afellay decided to follow the example of his two scoring teammates. The Dutch scored his first goal in the Super League, in his official debut as a player of the Legend, when he received the ball in the 32nd minute following a wonderful pass from Dominguez, which actually was an assist! He received the ball outside the box, controlled it and after evading his opponent, he fired the ball into the nets and was frantically applauded by the fans in the stands!
The only thing Niki Volos managed was to narrow the score in the 57th minute following a nice personal move by Shkurtaj.
