Christian Karembeu commented on the UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw that brought Manchester United on the path of Olympiacos.
Our side’s Strategic Advisor to the Administration originally stated:
“This is a manageable draw, given the seeded clubs. In any case, we can be nothing but happy for our campaign until now. We will be ready, no matter what, since we have the first leg at home and the return one away.
We will give everything and do our best to win at home. I hope our fans will provide us with the required energy against such a great opponent and worthy of respect, such as Manchester United”.
With respect to recent weakness displayed by David Moyes’ side, he said:
“Theywontheirlastmatchbyahugeleadandtheirconfidencehasbeenrestored. They will definitely want to keep this momentum, but we will do what we can and why not, a surprise in not out of the question”.
On the fact that two “sharp” marksmen, Robin van Persie and Kostas Mitroglou, he commented on our side’s star:
“Following Djebbour’s flee, he was left alone on the top of our attack; we have many good players to feed him and definitely he is our side’s main “gun”. He is successful with his national team and he is also heading the championship scorer table. We are really proud to have Mitroglou with us and I hope Kostas will be fit to play against Manchester”.
Ending, he repeated:“Our side will do everything to win and overcome this opponent”.
