We asked you in the pre-match Press Conference against Anderlecht, what your title would be and you have said “like never”. What is your title now after this never-existent corner given to Benfica?
“A team that moves on. We become better and more united day by day. Today, we showed that we had both character and personality. We were better on both halves of the pitch; water-filled or not”.
Mitroglou is a 5-star striker. How do you explain this player’s progress compared to past years?
“Mitroglou’s progress is related to the whole team’s daily progress, because Mitroglou works hard in training every day like all players. We are doing a fine job in Rentis in all our training sessions”.
You said before the match that it is decisive. Now, given this draw, would you give us the same reply?
“Even if we have won the match, we would have been thinking that there is another difficult match ahead at home against Benfica. I am not the one to downgrade an opponent’s value, like Benfica’s. We are one tiny step forward. We have four points; that means many but not enough”
Did you deserve something more than one point? What can you say about Roberto’s play?
“Today, we took one point out of this match. Maybe we deserved to win and I believe the whole world has seen that. Roberto was very good at his position. Luckily, he had to work less than in Brussels. However, he is proving himself as a very good goalkeeper day by day”.
Was that Benfica as you expected them to be or did you expect it to be stronger?
“I believe that this is Benfica as I expected it. But most people were not waiting for Olympiacos to compete at this level. I belive we were better. We gave Benfica a hard time. We responded well to all our opponent’s weak points and our side showed great self-confidence.
PSG has won tonight. Do you reckon that they are already at another level or that qualification will be a game of two, Olympiacos and Befica?
“I am not the one to say what PSG has accomplished. It is a club that was played and won all those matched. It’s the best in the group. As for the second place, we will fight for that since we are really close. It will definitely be a game between us and Benfica”
