Olympiacos social activities are non-stop. During holidays, the needs of our fellow men grow bigger and Olympiacos is always there to help those in need of support. It was the children’s turn this time to enjoy a big “red-and-white” hug, since our team visited, Thursday afternoon, the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital in Goudi!
As it is the case every year, Olympiacos players and coaching staff, accompanied by FC’s Press Officer Mr Kostas Karapapas, visited this year also hospitalised young children facing mild or severe health problems. They gave away gifts, but most importantly they offered reasons to smile and be optimistic!
Characteristically enough, almost 300 people have been eagerly waiting for our team to arrive and made sure that the “red-and-whites” were given a very warm welcome. In fact, the hospital staff has hung a huge Olympiacos flag on one of the buildings’ side, so everyone could see. Children need us and an active organization as Olympiacos has performed its duty, by standing by them, offering hope for a better future.
“We came here today to give joy to the kids who need so”, said Marco Pantelic initially and, once asked about the new year and the side’s targets, he laconically and lucidly mentioned: “We want both the Championship and the Cup, plus the best possible campaign in Europe”.
FC’s Press Officer Mr Karapapas stressed: “We will always be close to our fellow people and offer them happiness. We will support them. It is our great joy to be here today and Olympiacos FC charities will not end here”.
Last, the Director of “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital Mr Manolis Papasavvas underlined: “We want to warmly thank Olympiacos for being close to the children, as they always do. It is our immense pleasure and mainly it fills the kids with joy to meet their models from close. I wish you are always healthy and successful!”
