Leonardo Jardim kept the central defenders “duo” of OAKA and lined up once again Siovas with Papazoglou. Carroll defended the goal, whereas Diakité was the right back, and Cholevas the left. Modesto was the defensive midfielder, whereas Ibagaza and Greco were right before him. The wingers were Abdoun (left) and Fuster (right), whereas Kostas Mitroglou remained at the top of the side’s offense.
In 23’, the pressure applied by Olympiacos to Stratilatis’ goalpost paid off. Ibagaza passed the ball to Modesto. He found Diakité on the right, who then crossed sweetly in the heart of Kerkyra’s defence. It was there that Mitroglou jumped in the air and with a beautiful header marked our team’s 2.100th goal at home in the history of the top-level league!
The second half found Olympiacos pursuing 2-0 equally strong as before the end of the first half. In 56’, Olympiacos achieved 2-0, with yet another Greek player going all the way to the goal! Abdoun’s corner from the left delivered the ball to a point where Siovas, higher than everyone else, coverted it with a header, sending the ball straight into Stratilatis’ net!
Nothing changed during the the rest of the game and our side won 2-0. This was our 10th victory in eleven matches for Olympiakos.
