For the first time in this Super League season, Olympiacos failed to exit the pitch victorious. The side was hold to a 2-2 draw against Aris in Thessaloniki, yet retains the top place in the championship table, on the road for its 40th title.
Leonardo Jardim chose not to change his starting line-up much compared to the Montpellier fixture, but to keep it to the outmost necessary. Caroll under the post; Torosidis, Cholevas, Manolas and Contreras in the defensive line; Modesto with Maniatis and Tatos in the midfield. Also, Abdoun coming from the right, Machado on the left, and Kostas Mitroglou at the top of the offensive line.
Our side started off on the wrong foot, since it took 3 minutes for the opponent to score. Olympiacos comeback was immediate with a successfully converted penalty by Abdoun in 9 minutes’.
In the 2nd half, Leonardo Jardim unleashed Lykogiannis and Greco in the pitch, replacing Tatos and Modesto. Pantelic entered the match, Machado took the free-kick from the left and, in 81’, Cholevas netted the equalizer, 2-2!
