NexteGen’s match-day 3 found Olympiacos smiling! Our club’s U20 team managed to get a tie at Marseille venue, in France (0-0). They lost several chances to score and take something more from this match. Berndt Stork’s players have now the opportunity to look even further in the competition.
The first half was balanced. On 2’ Lykogiannis watched Fabri save his exceptional free kick. On 39’ Fabri did the same with Ioannidis’ shot. Charles received the yellow card on 45’.
In the second half the rain made it difficult for the two teams to perform better. Lyras came face to face with Marseille’s goalkeeper on 60’ but did not aim well and lost a most important opportunity to score. On 62’ Mendy was shown the yellow card. On 70’ Lykogiannis missed another big chance for Olympiacos, as he did not direct properly his header.
On 80’ Anani had an attempt against Choutesiotis’ post. Gino was shown the yellow card on 91’ and Azouni on 92’. The game ended with Olympiacos getting an important away draw, reaching 4 points in the 6th group and being able to aim higher in the NextGen Series competition!
