“Everything is up to us”

“Everything is up to us”

Here are Olympiacos’s players’ statements, after the game against Levadiakos.

These are the statements of our players:

Rafik Djebbour

About the team’s performance: “We are heading down the right direction. Game after game we are improving and I am also feeling very good, on a personal level.”

About the improvement possibilities: “I am certain that we will improve. We need to keep working, we have a new head coach and I am sure that day by day we will become better.”

About the future: “We were off to a good start, but the hard part is not over yet. There are very difficult matches to follow, though everything we want to accomplish is up to us to accomplish it. We need to be smart, in order to achieve it.”

Dimitris Siovas

“Surely, I am most happy to have scored my first goal for Olympiacos, though what really counts is the victory and the 3 points earned tonight. We look ahead, there is still much time. We need to build on our new head coach’s philosophy. Match-day number two is now in the past and we need to try hard for an even better performance in the future.”

About a possible improvement, before the upcoming Champions League match against F.C. Schalke: “It is only natural that we will improve. But the training sessions will be held without the internationals. We will return a bit later, but it is most certain that we will try for the best.”

About him dedicating the goal he scored to Kostas Mitroglou: “We discussed it after the match against Veria. Since I came close to scoring a few times there, that if I did it today, I would dedicate it to him. And so I did.”

Djamel Abdoun

“We played very well. I am most happy about my MVP title and I honestly want to thank everyone for helping me win it. What we need is to keep performing like that and aim for the championship title. We are still early in the season and I personally believe that game after game we will find our rhythm and perform according to our capabilities. We have a new coaching staff on the team, many new players and it is only natural that we’re still trying to find our rhythm. What we want is to be ready for our first Champions League game. Our group might not be the hardest one, but there are no easy games. We promise to try our best.”

About the fans of Olympiacos: “I want to thank our fans, from the bottom of my heart, for their great support. What I would like to tell them is that they should keep supporting both us and the team, the same way they have up till now.”
