The beginning of a new season can always bare traps, but Olympiacos knows how to handle tough situations. On Superleague’s MD1, our team overcame the obstacle of Veria F.C., gathering its first three points to its total.
This victory, by 2-1 was a very important one, as it occurred under difficult circumstances, such as a bad pitch condition and heavy heat. However, the visitors managed to leave their opponents behind on the Superlague table.
Leonardo Jardim chose a 4-3-2-1 formation with Carroll being the goalkeeper. On the defense, Torossidis was on the right, Cholevas on the left and Siovas with Contreras were the two centre backs. Maniatis and Modesto played as defensive midfielders and Ariel Ibagaza as the creative midfielder in front of them. On the offensive line, Abdoun was on the left, Machado on the right and Djebbour at the top.
