Here is what they said:
Leonardo Jardim
“We had some difficult moments in the beginning because we were tired, since it is our second game. I think we did quite well and I am happy with my team. The players had tension, which was good, but we needed a bit more calm.
In this first stage of the preparation, we wanted to get to know each other, to look into players who had been playing for other teams and had been done injustice. Now I must say that I have a general idea and a first opinion.
The friendly games that follow in Portugal are somewhat important, as we will also have the international players along with us and we should take good advantage of that in order to find our team rhythm; we will then figure out what level we are at.”
Yiannis Potouridis
“We played well in both games although still in the beginning of our preparation. We are working hard, have a new coach who wants to get his new philosophy through to us and which we are trying to put into our game. I believe that we can only achieve this by taking one day at a time and we will play football the way we know how. There are no great differences between Mr. Jardim and Mr. Valverde. Both want to play smoothly with no long-distance passing.
That’s what a great team like Olympiacos should do; be smooth and perform well. I will be at my coach’s disposal whenever and wherever he needs me and I will do my best for it. Honestly, I have no problem playing as a left back or as a stopper. I only want to do my best each time. I am working hard, we all are, I want to stay on the team.”
