“The first game of the season is always difficult to describe. The good thing is that we didn’t lose today. We showed some positive elements and made promises to be kept for the upcoming season. It’s still just the pre-season so we are still working. But we are working hard on some new stuff that we slowly want to add to our game.
This match was definitely much more complicated for our opponents. It is the end of their preparation and maybe they should have showed something more, or be more competitive. It is possible that they will be more offensive at the league match that they have coming up next week. As I’ve said before, we are concentrating on ourselves and our own team. We want to improve our game and work on the little things that need work.
I am all for the administration’s decision to move closer towards the young Greeks. It is very important for Olympiacos to be able to acquire new young native players. On our part, we will do the best we can to help them out, help them adjust and make the better in order to play for a top-level team, such as Olympiacos.”

“I believe that given the fact that many of our players are not here, we had some good moments. Our opponents are playing their first official league match next week, while we came here, on the mountains, to work during our pre-season. And we did well, considering it’s just our first match.
The good news is that all of our additions this season are players of a younger age and that’s nice. We have a great ambiance and today we showed that the new players have already bended with the rest of the team and that’s something we saw on the pitch. It’s just a pre-season test and I believe that we need time for the coach to have a clear image on the squad and make the appropriate decisions.”
