Olympiacos had to face an opponent who practically only played defense but that should not be used as an excuse. The reds resembled at nothing to the team we have been accustomed to seeing.
The only good moment for the visitors was at the first 30 seconds when Mirallas’ shot sailed past the left bar. After that, no other action caused their opponents the slightest of worries, except for a beautiful header by Djebbour at 60 minutes that hit the woodwork and a shot by Papadopoulos right after that, deflected by the home team’s guardian.
In 92 minutes Torossidis was very close to scoring but the assistant referee put up his flag for an offside violation.
