Following the final whistle of the game against Arsenal, at the “G.Karaiskakis” stadium, the President of Olympiacos F.C., Mr. Vangelis Marinakis congratulated the players on their wonderful performance and their victory while stressing the fact that if they continue to play this way, the team has nothing to fear in the Europa League.
“Let’s start with the nice part. That’s how I feel anyway. The good news is that Olympiacos has won three games, two at home and one away. With the exception of the first match, prior to which -as I have said before- Olympiacos had had no official matches for over five months, our team played really well in Europe; proved worthy of the arenas they played in, won a very tough away match and if they continue to play that way, there is nothing to fear in the Europa League.
I hope that they will keep up their good performances, so passionate and powerful and, as I told the players, I know they did what they could and so I congratulated them. In my opinion, I feel as though we qualified and they deserve many congratulations. May they continue to play that way with such passion and strength in the Europa League. If that happens, then I believe we can do great things.”
About Olympiacos’s future in the Europa League, Mr. Marinakis said: “As I just said, I don’t think we have something to fear, given we continue to play this way. Olympiacos responds well to difficult situations. Once again, I would like to congratulate the players, our coach and our wonderful crowd. With them by our side, we are fearless.
