“We definitely deserved something more from this game; the victory. We created many opportunities against a team that after a point receded and defended trying to make something out of counter-attacks. We were unlucky and didn’t take advantage of our own opportunities.”
Balazs Megyeri
“We had many occasions to win and no one is ever satisfied with a draw at a derby; you always seek the victory. We really wanted to win, we played better than Panathinaikos but we were unlucky. I really enjoyed my first participation in a derby but not as much as I would if we had won.”
Olof Mellberg
“We could have won this game but we also could have lost it. We had many good moments and it is a bit disappointing that we didn’t get something better out of it. We tried to pressure them and force them to make mistakes. They, on the other hand, pressured high. It is also a bit disappointing that we had many dead-ball situations and this is where we could have done better.” About Balazs Megyeri: “It was a tough game, with an intense atmosphere and pressure and I think that for a young player like he is, he handled the situation very well.” About the fixtures that follow: “We need to recharge our batteries. Especially for us who played with our National Sides last week, the schedule has been very heavy. There is also a heavy schedule ahead, so it is important to recharge.”
Kevin Mirallas
“I really wanted to score because the games against Panathinaikos are always a bit different to the rest. I didn’t manage to do it but I am very happy with the pass I gave to Djebbour who netted the equalizer, so for me it’s almost the same thing. Obviously, the draw was not the result we wanted but I am very proud of my team and my teammates because we did not give up and played well. Unfortunately, we didn’t score more goals which according to our opportunities we deserved. I would rather have scored today than do so with Marseille, but if I achieve a goal in France and give my team three more points in the Champions League, it will also be really nice.”
