About the game’s final score: “No, it was not easy at all. On the contrary, we tried very hard in order to score the first goal. We had of course control of the game and after scoring things came a lot easier. However, it was not an easy game as you might think or as the final score may imply. Our opponents were dangerous with their counter-attacks and the strategy they followed. On the other hand, we were very strong in defense, we had possession and control of the ball and so we forced them to fall behind and play defensively.”
About his team’s overall performances:“Every game is a different case. Today was really tough because we came from a very difficult Champions League game. We are always worried about how players will perform after an international match. We are satisfied, yes, but we haven’t reached the point where we can safely say we are happy. Every week we have a new challenge. This week we have OFI and we must prepare well.”
About substituting Djebbour with Marcano whilst Olympiacos was winning by 3-0:“I can understand why it might seem awkward to you as you thought it was an easy game, but for us it wasn’t. I am a professional coach and I want my team to be as strong as it can at any given moment. So, I thought that this was how we should play; with Marcano. Furthermore, Holebas played as a left midfielder in the game against Dortmund and it’s a position where he can perform well. I want him to start getting used to it so that he can manage to play there during the entire game.”
About whether he is thinking of using Holebas as a midfielder in the game against Borussia next week:“No. Usually, he plays as a defender but he is a footballer who can help us from both positions. We tried that last year too.”
