The home team netted two goals very early in the game (8 and 20 minutes – Chamberlain and Andres Santos respectively) and all that Olympiacos managed to do was to narrow the difference down thanks to a header by David Fuster on 27′ minutes.
Earlier in the game, Fuster missed out on a great opportunity to score (4′) as did many other Olympiacos players such as Djebbour, Mirallas and of course Torosidis, whose sudden long kick on 65 minutes hit the crossbar.
